Harbour Avocats has advised the cooperative group MaÏsadour on the disposal of Comtesse du Barry, a renowned French fine food brand, to a consortium of South-West France-based entrepreneurs. The transaction was completed on March 31, 2026.
This carve-out forms part of Maïsadour’s strategic repositioning, enabling the group to refocus on its core activities while securing a strong future for an iconic brand of French gastronomy.
The buyer consortium brings together experienced and regionally anchored entrepreneurs, notably Ariane DAGUIN, a prominent figure in Franco-American gastronomy and founder of D’Artagnan, alongside Fois Gras Raymond d’Artigues, a recognized foie gras specialist.
Harbour Avocats advised Maïsadour throughout the entire transaction, from structuring to closing. The team was led by partner Julia Kouchnirenko Descottes.
